  • Participated in development of two mobile drilling rigs for use on the lunar landing rover
  • Participated in development of a lunar soil simulant in support of lunar landing studies by EXTERRA division of the Corps of Engineers.
  • Development of a special material to be used as a lubricant between the rocket crawler tread and the rocket launch pad at Cape Canaveral.
  • Participated in the Canada-United States stability study of Niagara Falls during dewatering in late 1960s through early 1970s.
  • Performed foundation studies for various buildings at Oak Ridge National Laboratories
  • Developed the test methods D5312 and D5313 for testing riprap and armor stone in freeze-thaw and wet-dry.
  • Developed rock mechanics test for determination of pull-out strength of grouted rock anchors.
  • Designed and developed a stress-controlled, strain-controlled direct shear device for testing rock core (NX to 6-inch). Design sold to Fuller, Mossbarger, Scott and May Engineers, Inc., Lexington, KY.
  • Developed a systems approach for determination of the quality of rock sources for use as armor stone and riprap.
  • Developed a predictive model for determination of estimated service life of armor stone in various environments.
  • At the request of US Senator Mary Landrieu (LA), participated in a 45-member US delegation to the Netherlands to meet with engineers and scientists from Rijkswaterstaat and Delft Hydraulics Laboratory to discuss experiences on the North Sea and determine if these principles may be used along the Louisiana coast.
